Badge Criteria

This FOUNDATIONAL level badge is equivalent to a 3-credit, master’s-level course. A final grade of B or better is required to earn this badge.

1. Understand key concepts like decision trees, ensemble learning and statistical methods. 2. Design, implement and optimize machine learning models using Python frameworks (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow). 3. Perform data preprocessing, feature engineering and exploratory analysis for ML readiness. 4. Use metrics (e.g., precision, recall, F1-score) and hyperparameter tuning to improve model performance. 5. Work effectively in teams to solve complex problems and communicate solutions clearly. 6. Analyze research papers and apply findings to practical machine learning challenges. 7. Address ethical concerns like bias, transparency and accountability in AI applications. 8. Present results using tools like Matplotlib, Seaborn or TensorBoard. 9. Complete a real-world project applying machine learning techniques creatively and effectively. 10. Build a foundation for adapting to advances in machine learning and AI technologies.
