Badge Criteria

This INTERMEDIATE level badge is equivalent to a 3-credit, master's level course. Earning a grade of B or better is required for this badge.

1. Demonstrate awareness of skills and difficulties encountered by special needs students in the classroom setting through learning about specific disabilities and characteristics. 2. Demonstrate ability to informally assess the needs of special and exceptional children to help differentiate instruction and maximize student success in the mainstream. 3. Demonstrate ability to identify the causes of inappropriate behavior and select appropriate intervention strategies. 4. Demonstrate competency in planning of instructional units and lessons, which meets the needs of all students. 5. Incorporate technology into instruction.
