The Biostatistics in R badge immerses learners in the essential statistical methods used in biology and medicine, starting with a practical introduction to the R programming environment. Learners will master core topics like hypothesis testing, t-tests and various regression techniques, enabling learners to analyze and rigorously validate real-world biomedical data. Learners gain the quantitative skills necessary to draw sound conclusions from complex biological and medical studies. Topics will include probability, hypothesis testing, tests for variables (e.g., chi-square, Fisher’s test), t-test, linear and multivariate regression, covariance and Bayesian statistics.

Badge Criteria
This FOUNDATIONAL level badge is equivalent to a 3-credit, master’s-level course. A final grade of B or better is required to earn this badge.
